A mom on TikTok has sent the Internet into a frenzy after spray-painting her toddler's toy Christmas tree to match her home decor.

Natalie Powell posted a video to her account after she decided to give 16-month-old daughter Vivian's Step 2 My First Christmas Tree a makeover that fit into her own neutral, monochromatic aesthetic.

"Go ahead and call me crazy or a 'Sad Beige Mom' for what I'm about to do, but today I'm giving the Step 2 My First Christmas tree a total makeover,'" Powell said at the beginning of her video, which has already amassed over 8 million views.

"I'm leaning into my inner Pinterest mom with the vision to neutralize the tree and I can already hear you thinking that I'm going to ruin my toddler's Christmas by painting over these colors."

"But let's be real, my toddler's favorite toys are brown cardboard boxes and clear plastic water bottles. So I really think that she's a neutral girly at heart," she said before getting into her DIY instructions.

Powell took her viewers on a trip to Lowe's, where she picked out a few neutral colors to spray paint the vibrant red and green toy Christmas tree. Once back at her house, she took the toy outside to complete the transformation.

"Guys, honestly I love them. They're definitely giving organic, modern vibes," Powell said after taking a step back and looking at her finished tree. "Should I paint the train or leave it as is?"

Powell's viewers took to the comments to voice their opinions.

"It's just not even cute anymore...u took away all personality for urself and u admitted it. ur not just a sad beige mom, ur a selfish mom," one commenter wrote.

"Did you prep the PLASTIC? No! Did you read that spray paint is toxic to babies? Also no! Are you a sad beige mom? Yes!" another said.

Powell has embraced her title of "Sad Beige Mom" by creating a new series on TikTok where she posts gift guides and day-in-the-life videos under her new pseudonym.
