Mom of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Son Is “Heartbroken That Cassie Must Relive the Horror of Her Abuse”

Misa Hylton, the mother of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ second eldest son, Justin, has expressed her support for Casandra “Cassie” Ventura days after a video of the music producer assaulting the singer and his longtime ex-girlfriend was released.
The fashion designer posted two images of Combs’ seven children on Instagram and shared in the caption that she was “heartbroken” over what Ventura must be going through.

“I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma,” Hylton wrote. “These young people were raised by women that want the best for them — we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”
She concluded her caption: “Their father needs help and I am praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”
Hylton’s post comes a few days after a video of Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel was obtained and released by CNN on Friday.
The video sees the music producer grab Ventura by the back of the neck and throw her on the floor before proceeding to kick her multiple times while she’s immobile on the ground. He later drags her by the sweatshirt, shoves her and throws an object toward her.
Combs released an apology video on Instagram on Sunday, saying, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was fucked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
He continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released its own statement on Saturday, sharing that it had seen the “extremely disturbing” video of Combs assaulting Ventura but could not prosecute Combs for it because the statute of limitations had passed.
