Mom of Missing Teen Explains Why She Was Skeptical A Search & Recovery Dive Team Could Help Find Her Son

Amy says that when her 16-year-old son, Jed, vanished from their home in Idaho in 2018, she and her husband, Allen, did everything they could to find him, including contacting their local police, but the trail soon ran cold. Then, after more than two years of waiting to hear what had happened to her son, Amy was contacted by Jared Leisek and Doug Bishop of Adventures with Purpose (AWP). AWP is an Oregon-based specialty search and recovery dive team dedicated to helping the families of missing loved ones. The group also runs a YouTube channel to chronicle their search and recovery efforts. “Helping families get answers to nightmares they’ve been living with is why we do what we do, and we take it very seriously,” says Bishop. Amy says that since local authorities had assured her they had already searched the nearby Snake River for Jed’s vehicle – and found nothing – she was skeptical that AWP could help, “so we were just kind of humoring them.” Watch the video above to hear what Amy says her response was after AWP found Jed’s car in the river. And later, what did AWP discover inside Jed’s vehicle after it was pulled from the Snake River? Plus, Jared Leisek and Doug Bishop discuss recent search and recovery efforts leading to the discovery of a previously missing 16-year-old girl.
