My Mom Has a Brilliant Hack for Picking Up Shedding Hair Around the House

Did you know that on average we shed between 50 to 100 hairs a day? Though if you asked my mom, she'd swear that I shed twice that amount.

My bathroom floor (and pretty much any room I spend time in) is littered in long, wavy strands. I pick them up fairly regularly, but...it's sort of like trying to keep up with my inbox, you know? It's a never-ending cycle that I can't win, so I make the choice to not, uh, split hairs over it.

This is all well and good for me, but it drives my mom crazy. She is Monica Geller at her Monica Geller-ist. As such, she's also a low-key genius when it comes to cleaning.

Case in point: Her method for cleaning up my hair around the house.

She uses a lint roller. (Although in looking for a shopping link to share with you guys just now, I'm realizing that this is apparently already a popular method of cleaning for pet owners. I'm impressed, mom.)

Anyway, I've got to hand it to her, it's a heck of a lot faster than what I usually do, which is pick the hairs up by hand or dampen a wad of toilet paper to sweep them up. The lint roller hack has also made it easier to vacuum, as I no longer have to spend time untangling a ball of hair from the bristles and filter.

Trigger warning: If you want to see the lint roller in action, scroll down.

See! This is the result of this morning's roll, which she completed in mere minutes, then showed me triumphantly.

Her birthday is coming up, so I'm thinking of upgrading her to a roller with an extendable handle (and a promise to help her clean the house more often).
