The Moldy Peaches’ Debut Album Getting Reissued

The Moldy Peaches—the duo of Adam Green and Kimya Dawson—have announced a reissue of their debut self-titled album. It’s out August 10 via Rough Trade. It’s getting pressed on red vinyl and comes with a bonus 7" single of “County Fair” b/w “Rainbows.” It’s also coming out on CD. The artwork, below, has been slightly updated. The album features “Anyone Else But You,” which was prominently used in the 2007 Oscar-winning film Juno.

“It’s been 17 years since this was last released and we are putting it out again just in time to capitalize on the popularity of Juno,” the band joked in a statement.“We decided to ignore Barbara Walters’ advice when she told us to strike when the iron was hot, and decided to wait until the iron had become safely tepid. Once a Moldy Peach, always a Moldy Peach.”

Both artists went on to pursue solo careers. Dawson released a series of solo records and collaborated with Aesop Rock as the Uncluded. In recent years, Green has been making films, including a wild music video for Father John Misty’s “Total Entertainment Forever.” Read Pitchfork’s interview with Green about the video’s creation.
