MOIPEI, composed of Kenyan-born triplets, will perform in two events at the Mendel Center

BENTON HARBOR — Lake Michigan College presents two events with the vocal trio MOIPEI at the Mendel Center, 2755 E. Napier Ave:

• Valentine Dinner Cabaret with MOIPEI at 6 p.m. Feb. 14: The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a served, gourmet dinner, dessert, and cash bar. At 7 p.m., MOIPEI steps onto the stage to perform an evening of well-known selections from the great American songbook and beyond. Tickets are $100.

• An Evening with MOIPEI at 7 p.m. Feb. 15: Titled “From the Land of the Lion to the Big Apple,” the concert features a few favorites from the Valentine’s Day concert plus many new selections. Tickets are $50.

Composed of Kenyan-born triplets Mary, Maggy and Marta, MOIPEI performs an eclectic mix of their own vocal arrangements of Broadway, pop and jazz hits, sacred pieces, and Kenyan folk songs.

They interpret some well-known selections from the great American songbook, gospel music and traditional Swahili songs.
