Modern Warfare 2 and Overwatch 2 Dominate PlayStation Store October 2022 Downloads

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Overwatch 2 were two of the biggest games to be released on the Playstation Store in October 2022 and, unsurprisingly, they’ve both dominated the monthly downloads charts. Gotham Knights, which was released towards the end of the month, managed to hold its own in the PS5 charts but last month’s sports games are still going strong too.

Modern Warfare 2 took the top spot in the PS5 and PS4 Playstation Store downloads chart in North America as well as the top spot in the PS5 chart for Europe despite just a few days to make an impact. Overwatch 2, which is now a free-to-play franchise, grabbed the top spot in the free-to-play chart in both regions. Gotham Knights, a game not released on PS4, grabbed second place in US/Canada and third place in Europe.

Meanwhile, FIFA 23 managed to keep hold of the top spot in the Europe PS4 chart and remain in the top three elsewhere, while other sports titles like NBA 2K23 also continued to have a large presence. To see the rest, here are top PlayStation Store downloads for PS5 and PS4 for October 2022:
