Jesse Tyler Ferguson will always show his support for his TV daughter!

The actor, 48, shared on Instagram that he had a mini-Modern Family reunion with Julie Bowen and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons — who played his character Mitchell’s sister and daughter, respectively, on the ABC sitcom — on Wednesday. With a heartwarming post, Ferguson revealed that he and Bowen, 54, stepped out to see Anderson-Emmons, 16, perform in her school play.

Ferguson shared an adorable shot of the three former castmates as they smiled and posed together backstage, while Bowen held up the production’s playbill. He sweetly nodded to their characters on the hit comedy in the caption, writing, “Took my sis to see the kiddo in her school musical, The Theory of Relativity. So proud of you @aubreyandersonemmons!”

He also encouraged others to go see Anderson-Emmons and her classmates’ show. “If you are near @viphstheatre go check it out this weekend. ❤️,” he added.

Fans sounded off in the comments about how touching it was to see the costars back together again. “Cam would be so proud 😭,” read one comment, making a reference to the husband of Ferguson’s character Mitchell, played by Eric Stonestreet.

“It’s awesome to see that even after the show has ended, you all consider yourself still family,” another fan replied.

Anderson-Emmons also shared a photo from their reunion on Instagram. The trio was all smiles as they posed together in the shot, which revealed Anderson-Emmons to now be as tall as Bowen. She also left a heartwarming caption that read, “Faves came to watch my school play<33.”

It’s not the first time Ferguson has supported his TV daughter — who he starred alongside once she took over the role of Lily in season 3 — since the show ended in 2020 after 11 seasons.

In November of last year, the Broadway star attended another one of the actress’ school productions. He shared a photo of the two getting back together on Instagram and sang his praises of her performance in The Burn.

In the caption, the Emmy-nominated actor noted how “crazy” it is that Anderson-Emmons was nearly the same age as the youngest of his two sons, Beckett, 3, when they first met. He also lauded Anderson-Emmons' performance, writing, “Look at her now!!! Congrats, Aubrey! You were SO great! Love you! You make a pretend papa proud ❤️.”

The entire Modern Family cast, save for Ty Burrell, also recently reunited in November 2023. According to Sofia Vergara, who shared photos on Instagram of the on-screen family spending time together, it was the “first” time that nearly the whole ensemble was in the same room since wrapping the April 2020 series finale.

The photos that Vergara, 51, shared featured Anderson-Emmons, Bowen, Ferguson, Stonestreet, Nolan Gould, Sarah Hyland, Ed O'Neill, Rico Rodriguez, Ariel Winter and more — with Winter, 26, holding up a framed photo of Burrell, 56, in his absence.

When Ferguson posted about the gathering, he called it “nearly” perfect and shared that the showrunners were also able to make it. "We even had our two dads Chris Lloyd & Steve Levitan there," he said.

Much of the Emmy-winning comedy's cast has remained close since the show wrapped up its 11-season run, with several getting together at Hyland and Wells Adamswedding in 2022 and many frequently showing their support by attending each others’ productions, among other events.
