MMA Update: Lucerne Valley’s Aaron Williams set to defend King of the Cage bantamweight title

Lucerne Valley's Aaron Williams returns to action Sunday after a two-year layoff as he is set to defend his King of the Cage bantamweight title.

Williams, nicknamed “Anza Boy,” is scheduled to square off against Juan Beltran in the main event of a King of the Cage card at the Toyota Arena, in Ontario.

The two fighters have not competed since Dec. 8, 2019, when Williams handed Beltran his first career loss by scoring a three-round unanimous decision.

The Lucerne Valley resident trains at Cobra Kai Martial Arts in Victorville.

The fight card also includes four other fighters from the High Desert. Brandon Rivera, a Victorville resident, along with a trio of fighters that also train at Cage Combat Academy — Dylan Morales, Michael Santiago and Jeremy Barrett.

Sultana graduate Ryan Fillingame lost to Javier Garcia by unanimous decision at LFA 118, held at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center.
