The Alhonna Resort & Marina and Bobbers Restaurant & Lounge is actually the inspiration behind the Emmy-Award winning drama about a family who relocates from Chicago to the Ozarks in order to launder money for a drug lord, Swift & Co Realty says.

Bill Dubuque, who created the series, worked at Alhonna during the summer in the 1980s, according to Lake Expo.
