Mission: Impossible - Fallout trailer drops during Super Bowl

The first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout debuted during the Super Bowl on Sunday, revealing a glimpse of Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill in action.

The Paramount Pictures release, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, marks the sixth chapter in the Ethan Hunt saga; with it comes the “fallout” from M:I – Rogue Nation, the “fallout” from a nuclear terrorism plot, and the “fallout,” McQuarrie said, from all of Ethan’s “good intentions.”

Cruise returns in the role that broke his ankle while roof-hopping with Cavill, who’s sporting the mustache every Justice League fan knows all too well. With a cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, Alec Baldwin, and Ving Rhames, everyone seems determined to up the ante.

“The end you always feared is coming, and the blood will be on your hands. The fallout of all your good intentions,” Sean Harris says to open the trailer. Hunt’s mission — should he choose to accept it, of course (and we know he will) — is to fix things after a previous mission gone wrong. That lands him dangling from a helicopter, running his car into Rebecca Hall as she shoots at him, and clinging to the side of (and falling from) a cliff, among other death-defying action.
