Missing ‘Yellowstone’? Here are the hottest spring 2024 TV shows to look for

Spring has sprung.

March 2024 is here, bringing melting snow, warmer weather — and a host of upcoming new TV shows.

This season will bring several big-name stars to TV, including new shows for Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore and Colin Farrell. There will be historical dramas and thrillers aplenty, a new show for the “Big Little Lies” set, and a new reality show to whet the appetite of those who are missing “Yellowstone.”

“Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are also returning to TV.

Here’s a look at the essential new shows to keep on your radar.

‘The Regime‘

Starring Winslet and created by “Succession” and “The Menu” writer Will Tracy, this political satire miniseries follows a year in the palace of a crumbling authoritarian regime in a fictional European country. Hugh Grant co-stars.

Premiere date: March 3 on HBO (9 p.m.) and on Max.

‘The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys‘

For those who are missing the hit cowboy drama “Yellowstone” during its long hiatus, this docuseris dives into the world of farming and ranching in rural Missouri, where McBee Farm and Cattle teeters on the edge of becoming a billion-dollar business, or a financial disaster. It follows Steve McBee, the patriarch of the family; his girlfriend, the McBee’s CFO, Galyna; and his sons, Steven Jr., Jesse and Cole, who each want to take over.

Premiere date: March 11 on USA Network (11PM) and streaming on Peacock.

“Apples Never Fall” 

Based on a novel by Liane Moriarty (author of “Big Little Lies,”), this story follows married former tennis coaches Stan (Sam Neill) and Joy (Annette Bening), who are the parents of adult children played by Jake Lacy, Alison Brie, Conor Merrigan-Turner, Essie Randles. They seem like the perfect family, but after Joy mysteriously vanishes, dark secrets come out.

Premiere date:March 14 on Peacock.

‘Manhunt’

This conspiracy thriller centers on the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Stars include Tobias Menzies (“The Crown,” “Outlander”), Hamish Linklater and Patton Oswalt. Anthony Boyle (“Masters of the Air”) plays Booth.

Premiere date: March 15 on Apple TV+

‘Nolly’ 

Starring Helena Bonham Carter, this period drama is about Nolly (Carter) during the twilight of her career. Joan Noele “Nolly” Gordon was a famous soap opera star in the UK.

Premiere date: March 17 on Masterpiece PBS (9 p.m.)

‘Palm Royale’

Starring and executive produced by Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern, this show’s cast includes Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Kaia Gerber, Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett. Set in 1969, it follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) as she tries to break into Palm Beach high society.

Premiere date: March 20 on Apple TV+.

‘3 Body Problem‘

This is “Game of Thrones” creators Benioff and Weiss’ first show since “GOT” ended in 2019. Based on sci-fi novels, the story follows a fictional version of Earth where the world encounters an alien civilization — and a group of scientists who have to work together. Stars include Benedict Wong, Jovan Adepo, Eiza González and a handful of “GOT” alums (John Bradley, Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce).

Premiere date: March 21 on Netflix.

‘A Gentleman in Moscow‘

Starring Ewan McGregor and his real-life wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the series follows Count Alexander Rostov (McGregor), who is on the wrong side of history in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution and gets banished to an attic room in the Hotel Metropol.

Premiere date: March 29 on Paramount+ and March 31 on Showtime (9 p.m.)

‘Mary & George‘

Starring Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine (“Red, White & Royal Blue”), this historical drama is set in the 1600s. It’s based on the true story of Mary Villiers (Moore), who molded her son, George (Galitzine), to seduce King James I (Tony Curran). Through scheming, the mother and son rise from humble beginnings to become the richest and most influential players in court.

Premiere date April 5 on Starz (9 p.m.)

‘Sugar’

Starring and executive produced by Colin Farrell, this story follows John Sugar (Farrell), an American private investigator who is probing the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), the granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Cromwell, “Succession”).

Premiere date: April 5 on Apple TV+.

‘Fallout’

Move over, “The Last of Us.” Based on the hit video game of the same name, this post-apocalyptic series was developed by “Westworld” creators Jonathan and Lisa Joy Nolan. Starring Ella Purnell (“Yellowjackets”), it follows a young woman who must leave behind the world of bunkers to venture into the wasteland of dystopian Los Angeles.

Premiere date: April 12 on Prime Video.

‘The Veil‘

Created by Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) and starring Elisabeth Moss and Josh Charles, this thriller centers on two women traveling from Istanbul to Paris and London, while one of them has a secret that the other needs to expose.

Premiere date: April 30 on Hulu.
