What is National Cinema Day?

The Cinema Foundation started National Cinema Day in 2022 to “celebrate the magic of the movies on the big screen.”

Last year, over 8 million viewers participated in National Cinema Day. With over 3,000 locations and over 30,000 screens, box offices saw a $23.8 million return for the day, according to USA TODAY.

The Cinema Foundation is a nonprofit that uses data and collaboration to “promote and expand the cinema industry.” Its goal is to grow the moviegoing experience by creating diverse workforces and moviegoing communities by using research, education and philanthropy.

Is AMC celebrating National Cinema Day?
