"Everybody needs somebody in their life like a truth-teller," said the Grammy winner

Miranda Lambert jokes that she really appreciates her husband Brendan McLoughlin's "New York" personality.

The singer, 40, shared with Tamron Hall during the Tuesday episode of Tamron Hall Show that although her husband is one of her biggest fans, he will still tell her what he honestly thinks.

Before she revealed how McLoughlin's feedback is a bit more “harsh,” she shared that both he and her mother, Beverly, love to support her through their different versions of feedback.

Lambert explained that her mother is her “biggest fan” and “more of a hype girl," and then quickly joked that her husband’s feedback slightly differs.

“My husband tells me the truth. He gives me harsh reality, and I love it,” the Grammy winner explained to Hall.

“I like to say he calls me on my s—, which I love because everybody needs somebody in their life like a truth-teller,” joked the "Bluebird" singer. “He's very New York about it.”

“I mean I couldn't do any of this without her,” Lambert told Hall. “We had eight shows, she came to nine. I think my mom was here when no one was here.”

Along with sharing how supportive her mother has been throughout her career, Lambert revealed how supportive their friends and family were when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After months of treatment, Beverly is now healthy and cancer-free for a year.

“It really gives you a lot of perspective, and it really reiterated to me just how many people that it touches in bad and good ways,” explained Lambert. “People come out of the woodwork to support you, and you don't understand the toughness of that all the stress on the entire family until you've gone through it.”

“It was really eye-opening for our whole family, but we're very, very close,” added the singer.
