Miranda Lambert Hits the Stage for the First Time Since Revealing Secret Wedding

Miranda Lambert surprised fans at a Dierks Bentley concert in Nashville on Friday night, taking the mic to sing four songs — and marking her first performance since revealing last week that she got married to Brendan McLoughlin.

Bentley, 43 — who also brought out country star Keith Urban, 51, as another surprise guest — told the audience at the Bridgestone Arena that he had run into a friend earlier in the week and invited her at the last minute to perform with him at the concert, before introducing Lambert, 35, to raucous applause from the crowd.

Bentley, Urban and Lambert played a four-song acoustic set of country classics, starting with Hank Williams’ “Your Cheatin’ Heart” and Merle Haggard’s “The Bottle Let Me Down.” Urban launched into a gender-bending take on Emmylou Harris’ “Blue Kentucky Girl,” and Lambert added harmony on a shared mic. Bentley, in awe, simply sat down in front of the two and enjoyed the show.

Lambert — who was wearing her new wedding ring — then started into the Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away” before Bentley and Urban joined her. “I love it when boys sing girl songs,” Lambert interjected.

The trio ended with a brief reprise of “Your Cheatin’ Heart.”

Bentley posted a photo of the night to Instagram, adding more details about his fun in the spotlight with Lambert and Urban. “What can I say about these two and this moment here tonight at Bridgestone Arena, other than it’s just good to have pals… And @mirandalambert, who I randomly bumped into yesterday in Nashville, who asked about the show and said she and her husband were thinking about coming down,” he wrote.

“A lot of laughs in the dressing room 20 minutes before my band and I walked on the stage, working something up,” he added. “The best. Heart full of grateful [sic] for everyone that made tonight the night that it was, but these two are at the top.”

On Feb. 16, Lambert revealed that she had secretly married McLoughlin, a 27-year-old New York Police Department officer.

“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!” Lambert — who shared an exclusive image from their wedding with PEOPLE — wrote on Instagram, revealing the news of her new relationship for the first time.

“My heart is full. Thank you Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me,” she continued alongside two sweet photos from their happy day, adding a red heart emoji and the sweet hashtag “theone.”

This is the second marriage for Lambert, who was previously married to Blake Shelton prior to their divorce in 2015. Since then, she has dated singers Anderson East and Evan Felker, before finding love again with McLoughlin.

Lambert and McLoughlin stepped out together the same day as the announcement in N.Y.C., where their wedding bands were on full display.

“They looked happy and natural holding hands and strolling on the sidewalk,” an onlooker told PEOPLE of the two, who were “stopping to look in windows and smiling.” And Lambert, who was proudly sporting the new hardware, couldn’t have seemed happier: “She was beaming and protectively holding her ring finger,” added the onlooker.

An insider confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple first met on Friday, Nov. 2, when Lambert appeared with her Pistol Annies’ bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley on that day’s episode of Good Morning America. ABC’s morning show films in Times Square, an area where McLoughlin is assigned.
