Mipcom: Federation Entertainment Boards ‘One Night’ From ‘Lilyhammer’ Creators (EXCLUSIVE)

Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to “One Night,” an English-language romantic comedy series created by the makers of “Lilyhammer” and “Dag.”

Featuring a real-time narration,”One Night” follows two people in their early thirties who meet as part of a game and see their lives changed forever. Norwegian broadcaster NRK has commissioned the show.

The series was created and written by Øystein Karlsen, whose credits include the third season of “Lilyhammer,” Netflix’s first Scandinavian original, Kristopher Schau, whose credits include the hit Norwegian comedy-drama series “Dag.” Øystein Karlsen (“Dag,””Lilyhammer 3”) is directing. The show is based on an idea by Zak Shaikh (“Eve) and Steve Waverly (“Guilty Hearts”).

“‘One Night’ dives into the fascinating and boiling mix of words and feelings that anyone who’s been on a first date can relate to,” said Federation Entertainment.

The half-hour series is currently in production in Norway. The first episodes are expected to be delivered at the end of the year.

“One Night” is produced by Viafilm’s Anders Tangen, a well-known Norwegian producer whose track record includes “Lilyhammer,””Dag” and movies such as “5 Lies,””Fuck Up” and “The Immoral.” Viafilm is TV and film company which has offices in Los Angeles and Oslo.

At Mipcom, Federation Entertainment will be actively shopping Christian Schwochow’s “Bad Banks,” the German series which was presented in the work-in-progress section at MipDrama Screenings in April; and the Belgian procedural series “Unit 42.”

Federation Entertainment’s pipeline also includes the second season of “Marseille,” Netflix’s first French-language series original.
