The Miniaturists of Lubbock will host their 44th Annual Exhibit & Sale Oct. 7 and 8 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, at 4600 48th St.

Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with $3 admission for adults and $1 for children. All proceeds benefit the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

The theme this year is Tiny House Town, according to group member Linda Clifton, who has been a club member for 25 years.

"We have so much fun building our doll houses and small room boxes," she said. "We have members that work in several different scales. The most common scale is 1" in miniature equals 1' in real life. We work in 1/2", 1/4", and 1/44" scales."

She said the group meets once a month to work on a small project.

"Some of the projects we have at our meetings include plants, books and water pitchers," Clifton said. "This year we will raffle a Christmas gazebo with Santa taking a nap in a hammock."

Visitors will be able to view a wide variety of miniatures in different styles and scales, as well as shop vendors. There will also be door prize drawings.

Miniaturists of Lubbock is a group of miniature enthusiasts who have been getting together for decades to build miniatures. Members work in all scales, although 1/12th is the most popular, according to their website.
