Mojang has revealed the last feature in the Minecraft 1.20 update as a new cherry blossom biome that will have rows and rows of these wonderful pink trees. Better yet, players can transform these cherry blossom trees into new wooden items and plant saplings to create their own pink paradise.

Cherry blossom trees can be turned into a full wood set

Mojang has revealed in a blog post that players can break down the cherry blossom trees into a full wood-set, which will have a soft pink tint. This also includes a hanging sign that will be added in Minecraft 2.0 (the screenshot above shows a sign with “Hi!” on it). This special cherry blossom biome will also feature three creatures: pigs, sheep, and bees.

Early features for Minecraft 1.20 are currently available to be tested through Java snapshots and Bedrock betas and previews. In addition to this cherry blossom world, these features include archaeology, where you can use the new brush tool on “suspicious sand” blocks to extract pottery shards and other random objects. You can also find eggs for a new mob called the sniffer, which is being introduced because it won the Minecraft Live 2022 mob vote.

It’s still unclear when this much-anticipated Minecraft 1.20 update, which was announced at Minecraft Live on October 15, 2022, will release. Conservatively, it will launch some time in 2023, though we anticipate that it will release during the summer.
