Mindy Kaling and Daughter Katherine, 15 Months, Enjoy a 'Lazy Sunday' in Matching Pajamas

Mindy Kaling posted a rare photo of her 15-month-old daughter Katherine Swati to Instagram on Sunday.

The actress shared a sweet shot of her only child snapped while she was being held by Kaling, as both hung out by a living-room playpen in matching fruit-and-vegetable-patterned pajamas.

“A lazy Sunday with my little [love],” Kaling, 39, captioned the image.

Like in previous pics of Katherine that Kaling has uploaded to social media, the little girl was looking away from the camera in this shot. Like her mother, Katherine has a full head of brown hair, in which she wore a tiny white clip.

Kaling last posted a similar photo of herself and Katherine back in December, ahead of Christmas. The mother-daughter duo wore identical blue pajamas for the occasion, which were covered in a print of the Eiffel Tower.

“Waiting for Santa,” Kaling captioned the Instagram post, adding a Santa Claus emoji.

The two have a penchant for mommy-and-me matching outfits. For her daughter’s first Thanksgiving holiday, The Mindy Project star and creator shared a picture of her and Katherine‘s legs as the little girl sat on her lap, when they both wore matching pink Converse sneakers and jeans.

For Halloween, they were both dressed in yellow — Kaling as a bottle of mustard and Katherine as a “little lion.”

In October, Kaling opened up to PEOPLE about how she balances parenthood and her flourishing work life.

“I’m really lucky because I get to create my own job opportunities. Because I do that, I can fit my daughter into my job. It’s a luxury most American women don’t have,” said the A Wrinkle in Time actress. “That is probably the biggest perk of my life: to involve my daughter so much in my career.”

Last May, Kaling told Shape about the special way she has connected with Katherine since welcoming her in December 2017.

“She is a really happy baby,” said the star, joking, “What’s great for me is that my doctor told me that incessant chatter is good for a baby, and I’ve lived my whole life waiting to have a captive audience.”
