For Selena Gomez, every breath is a breakthrough.

The global pop star spent six years filming documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me,” which premieres at 2022 AFI Fest before debuting November 4 on AppleTV+. Alek Keshishian (“Madonna: Truth or Dare”) captures Gomez’s 20s before ringing in her 30th birthday.

The official synopsis reads: After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.

Gomez has sold more than 210 million singles worldwide and amassed over 45 billion global streams of her music throughout her singing career. In 2022, Gomez received a Grammy nomination for her first all-Spanish EP and an Emmy nomination for executive producing the critically acclaimed Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building,” in which she stars opposite Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Director Keshishian, who recently helmed “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,” said Gomez had a “raw vulnerability that captured” his interest before the documentary turned into a “six-year labor of love.”

“I had no interest in making a traditional pop doc,” Keshishian explained in a press statement. “I wanted to show something more authentic and Selena did, too.”

Gomez shared the teaser trailer on Instagram, captioning, “My Mind & Me. We don’t get along sometimes and it gets hard to breathe… But I wouldn’t change my life.”

The global pop sensation previously reflected on her 30th birthday, writing, “My twenties were a journey through good, hard and beautiful moments that I will never forget. Each of them has shaped me into the person that I am today.”

Gomez continued, “I am someone who is still learning, but is more certain about what matters and what she wants. Someone who is grateful for every single gift and every single lesson along the way. I am walking forward encouraged by so many strong, empowering people around me. I want to try my best to take the beautiful and the painful one day at a time and let it all make me into the very best me that I can be for myself/others/you.”

“Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me” premieres November 4 on AppleTV+.
