Milwaukee Halal Restaurant Week returns for its second year. Here's what you need to know.

Coming back for a second year, Milwaukee Halal Restaurant Week will take place from July 7-16 at participating restaurants across the area.

Several restaurants, including some returning from last year and newcomers, will have halal offerings on their menu during the week. Halal means the foods are permissible for Muslims; zabiha halal meats have been processed humanely in accordance with Muslim guidelines.

The organizers, Eat Halal MKE, aim to diversify the halal scene in Milwaukee where many halal options are unavailable. They reach out to local restaurants and ask them to be a halal meat vendor for the duration of the event.

After seeing success from last year's event, restaurants like Five O'Clock Steakhouse, Cuppa Tosa and Sobelman's kept halal offerings on their menu permanently or expanded their options. Here's all you need to know about this year's Halal Restaurant Week.

This list will continue to be updated.
