NEW YORK -- Milwaukee Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday entered the NBA's health and safety protocol Thursday afternoon before the team traveled to New York to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.

Holiday joins teammates Grayson Allen, George Hill and Pat Connaughton in the protocol.

Holiday is averaging 18.4 points and 6.7 assists per game but is coming off a stellar December in which he averaged 21.3 points per game on 56% shooting. He also averaged 7.3 assists and 1.8 steals.

Holiday is vaccinated against COVID-19 and has taken part in public service announcements advocating for the vaccine.

Holiday spent time in the protocol last season from Feb. 8-25 and said after his return it took time for him to recover from the illness.

The NBA has amended its protocol as the season has gone on, and Holiday can return in five days provided he tests negative twice in a 24-hour period and has no symptoms.
