Damian Lillard has wasted no time showing off his skills on the court — or getting back into the recording studio —since joining the Milwaukee Bucks last month.

When he's not shooting hoops, the NBA star is dropping bars under his hip-hop alias Dame D.O.L.L.A. And Lillard has amassed quite the discography: He's released five albums since 2016, scoring big-name collaborators including Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and Lil Durk.

And last week, just two months after releasing his latest album "Don D.O.L.L.A.," Lillard put out a five-song EP, "Life Lately."

"My music is my ultimate expression," Lillard told the Journal Sentinel Tuesday. "Some people journal, I write music. Especially at this stage in my career, I like to be able to vent, I like to be able to share in a creative way."

"Life Lately" features multiple collaborations with Grammy-nominated spoken-word poet Prentice Powell, along with guest appearances by Sy Ari Da Kid and Yxung Rell, and production from Ayo The Producer and Nonstop Da Hitman. According to press materials, the EP "delves into the recent chapters of Damian's life, exploring the challenges of divorce and his transition from the Portland Trailblazers to the Milwaukee Bucks."

You won't find any Giannis Antetokounmpo shout-outs here, or really anything too specific about the Bucks or the jaw-dropping trade. But Lillard talks about chasing "championship rings" and not letting his "celebrity" affect his "integrity" on "Envy." He talks about never running from his feelings since becoming a father, and being happy as he's ever been, on "New Beginnings."

On "Second Act," Lillard processes his past relationships in the wake of his divorce, and he infuses "Entity" with prideful bravado. The EP closes with Lillard brushing off critics on "No Worries."

"They used to call me the monster/they gonna judge like your Honor," he raps. "I don't respond to the drama/Flex and pull up my recliner."

"There’s always going to be narratives about certain things, and a lot of time people want to know how we feel and what we think," Lillard told the Journal Sentinel. "It’s not mandatory that we address anything but we do have feelings. I think to have better perspectives on who we are and how we handle things, and to have better respect for us as people, sometimes it helps for them to know where our mind and where our heart is."

On Spotify, "Life Lately" has been added to a deluxe edition of "Don D.O.L.L.A." (You can find it under the title "Don D.O.L.L.A. Life Lately Edition".)

The EP itself is also available on Even, a Milwaukee-based streaming service founded by Enrique "Mag" Rodriguez, former manager for breakout local rapper IshDARR and former program director for Backline, a career advancement program for Milwaukee artists that was operated by WYMS-FM (88.9) and business startup accelerator gener8tor.

"Life Lately" is available as a pay-what-you-want download through Even, and buyers will be entered in a contest to win tickets to a Bucks home game along with a meet-and-greet with Lillard, and get early access to music videos from the EP and episodes of his reality series "License to Lillard." A "Life Lately" DVD and autographed vinyl are also available for purchase through Even (even.biz).
