Millie Bobby Brown’s week just got a little worse.

“Stranger Things” star Brown, who earlier this week disappeared from Twitter after she became the subject of a homophobic meme, has now dropped out of this weekend’s MTV Movie & TV Awards, due to a knee injury.

Brown, who plays telekinetic child Eleven on the Netflix hit, broke the news via an Instagram video on Friday.

“Hi, guys,” Brown said in the video. “So, another milestone in my life. I’ve never actually broken a bone, except for now. I have split my kneecap. So, from the doctor’s orders, they told me to rest up, and that means I won’t be attending the MTV Awards this weekend.”

Brown added that she hopes her costars “have the best time” and noted, “I’ll be there in spirit.”

“Stranger Things” is nominated for numerous awards at this year’s ceremony, which tapes Saturday and airs Monday, including Best Show, a Best Performance in a Show nomination for Brown, Best On-Screen Team, and Best Kiss, for Brown and Finn Wolfhard.

On Wednesday, when TheWrap tried to access the actress’ verified account, @milliebbrown, a blue Twitter page came up saying the page “doesn’t exist.” The page went missing after multiple images of the actress were turned into anti-gay tweets, culminating in a meme that gained steam on the social media platform.

Brown, who in reality is an active supporter of LGBT rights, became the subject of a series of doctored images depicting her as homophobic, as well as a hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown, which initially appeared in November and resurfaced this month, coinciding with the start of Pride Month.
