Millie Bobby Brown Smashes Her Cake at Chic 20th Birthday Bash with Fiancé Jake Bongiovi

The engaged couple cozied up at Brown's birthday party in New York City

Millie Bobby Brown had her hands full (of cake!) at her birthday celebration.

The Stranger Things star celebrated her 20th birthday alongside fiancé Jake Bongiovi and other loved ones at a fun-filled party at Cathédrale Restaurant in New York City. Brown wore a white strapless dress and her hair in an elegant updo for the occasion. But her best accessory was the coordinating birthday cake.

The dessert, a layered vanilla cake with vanilla frosting, was simply decorated with vintage piping and several black bows — a popular cake trend as of late. The top said “twenty” in a cursive font.

In one shot, Brown is photographed gleefully holding a handful of the cake after taking a bite. Her friend next to her looks just as happy as Brown in the shot, laughing at the fun cake smash moment.

Their crew had a long table in a private room at the restaurant inside the Moxy East Village hotel, per Brown’s Instagram. The room is decked out with vintage concert posters and screen prints. Plus, there were large balloons spelling out “twenty” and several floral arrangements on the table to add to the festive atmosphere.

Bongiovi, 21, shared a birthday tribute to Brown with a photo from the event while teasing "big" developments in 2024 for the couple. (The two got engaged in April.)

"Happy birthday my beautiful fiancé [sic]. I love you so much. Big year ahead 🤍," Bongiovi wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself kissing Brown on the cheek as he wrapped his arms around her.

Bongiovi and Brown have mostly remained quiet when it comes to details about their wedding, but in August 2023, Brown shared how the planning was going with Women’s Wear Daily.

“I can say that the [wedding] planning is going — it’s so fun and it’s such an exciting time in my life,” she said.

Brown was also honest about why she didn't want the world to know too much about her big day.

"I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once,” she said. “And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me.”
