Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have taken a furry friend under their wings!

The pair stopped by the Humane Society Naples (HSN) in Naples, Florida, on Saturday, where they decided to help foster a pooch named Shark through Joey's Friends, according to a post on the humane society's Facebook page.

Joey's Friends is an animal rescue group Brown, 19, supports. It is dedicated to fostering shelter dogs and helping them through the transitional period between their rescue and a forever home, per the group's website.

"Thank you Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi for visiting our shelter yesterday! We are so excited to announce Shark left with this awesome pair to start a new journey with Millie's rescue, @joeysfriends22," HSN wrote in its post alongside images of the engaged couple and shelter staffers holding Shark.

"In honor of Millie's generosity, we are happy to say one of our current HSN dogs, Big Brown, has been renamed after Millie. Thank you again for visiting HSN and giving Shark an opportunity as big as his personality!" the shelter added with a snapshot of the pup, renamed to honor the Stranger Things star.

HSN shared the same post on its TikTok page, including that Big Brown, now Millie, is "available for adoption."

In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for HSN added: "Millie and Jake were so very pleasant and down to earth, focused solely on the well-being of our animals. At first, our staff did not even realize who they were; they seemed like just another young couple looking for a pet to adopt. Like many people who visit our shelter, they fell in love with one of our residents, Shark (renamed Jabba). It was a very positive and happy experience. They couldn't have been nicer, and they were obviously there for the right reason, to give a homeless animal a bright future."

After HSN shared the happy news about Shark, Joey's Friends shared its own Instagram post about the dog. In the post, the group shares a wealth of information about the dog Brown picked up from the humane society, including details on the pup's sweet demeanor and photos of the canine, who has been renamed Jabba, with the actress. Brown shared Joey Friend's gushing post about Jabba on her Instagram Story.

"Meet Jabba: The Relaxed Ruler of Tranquility," the caption of Joey's Friends' Instagram post begins, before detailing the group's reasoning behind the dog's Star Wars-themed name change. "In a galaxy not so far away, there resides a gentle being known as Jabba. His presence exudes the calm of a tranquil Tatooine evening, and his spirit embodies the serenity of a galaxy at peace."

Calling Jabba a "distinguished foster dog," the post adds that the pup "carries with him the wisdom of a thousand star systems."

The post also calls the canine a "paragon of restraint and composure" and notes in another Star Wars reference that Jabba's "demeanor is as steady as the twin suns of Tatooine, and his heart as vast as the star-strewn heavens above."

The Joey's Friends post says that Jabba is "Fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped."

"As he seeks his forever home among the stars, Jabba invites you to join him on a journey of serenity and companionship—a journey where the Force guides us all," the caption continues, concluding with "May the Force be with you, as you consider welcoming Jabba into your home and heart."
