It was only a few months ago that Miley Cyrus announced her split from Liam Hemsworth, but her new relationship with Australian singer Cody Simpson seems to be settling in nicely.
Cyrus and Hemsworth had been on-again off-again for 10 years when they said they were through in August. But by October, she and new beau Simpson were in a budding relationship.
This Is No Rebound
Originally it seemed their relationship was simply a rebound for Cyrus, but their love continues to grow. One thing that helped nurture it was the time Cyrus spent in the hospital to treat tonsillitis.
Apparently, the "Wrecking Ball" singer was impressed that Simpson stuck with her while she went through the illness, and was still there after her health improved.
A source spoke to Hollywood Life and explained how Simpson's gestures toward her really touched her.
“The way he treated her when she was sick was just beyond sweet. He dropped everything to be with her and help take care of her, how many guys would do that? It really impressed Miley and her family and that’s when things started to get really serious.”
'Taken Her By Surprise'
Cyrus is surprised that their relationship continues to grow, though the source at Hollywood Life says the singer doesn't often have simple flings.
“Miley has always been more of a relationship kind of girl. She loves having someone special in her life and she always falls hard. When she and Liam split up it was due to issues in their relationship, not because she wanted to go on some wild dating spree."
“She also wasn’t expecting to have a boyfriend so soon either. She wasn’t looking for that at all. This whole relationship has taken her by surprise in the best way.”
Both Are Working At This
While Cyrus tends to be the committed type in a relationship, Simpson is also doing his part to stay devoted to her.
According to the source at Hollywood Life:
“Cody has gone above and beyond to win her heart and has worked hard to convince her to get serious with him. He’s stepped up to the plate and has been there for her in every way pretty much from day one."
Cyrus Has Room To Grow Here
It also seems like Simpson is letting Cyrus be her own person, something that she's said was missing in her relationship with Hemsworth.
"Miley feels very important around Cody and Cody allows her to do what she wants to do and needs to do," says the source.
What Happens When the Holidays Fade?
Both seem to be on the same wavelength when it comes to the holidays, too.
“Getting into the holiday season she loves knowing that he will be there for her and they will be there for each other because they have so many similar interests," said the source.
“Miley is amazed and inspired by Cody, things are so new, so fun and so inspiring,” the source continued.
It will be interesting to see how the two pick up their relationship in the early months of 2020.
