It was a rough night for L.A. football fans after the Rams lost to the Patriots at the Super Bowl, and Miley Cyrus was among the viewers in mourning.

After the game, the singer expressed her sadness via Twitter and Instagram Story, where she posted a photo of herself wearing an oversized shirt and ditching the pants.

"Rams lost. I'm bummed," Cyrus wrote on the image, but she found the silver lining: "But I'm performing at the Grammy's [sic] this week. So I am happy."

Miley was aware that her photo choice was unrelated to the Super Bowl. In the shot, she wears a mouth-print graphic tee by Chinatown Market with an array of layered necklaces; no football references in sight. The singer posted the image again and explained why she went with the unexpected pantsless selfie.

"Posting for no reason," she admitted. "Tried to correlate this pic to the game. But it all sounded stupid. Cuz this pic is stupid & pointless." Those were the only two pictures on her Instagram Story.

Cyrus' Instagram Story also got fans talking last week when she revealed that she has a pair of Louis Vuitton's new wireless ear buds, which are retailing for $995. "Listening to my new sh*t on my new sh*t," she captioned the shot, hinting that she might've been tuning into her upcoming music on the airpods.

It's unclear what Miley will be performing at the Grammy Awards, which take place on Sunday. It's likely she'll sing her latest collab with Mark Ronson, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart," but we wouldn't complain if she surprised us with a new single. Other performers scheduled for the ceremony include Cardi B, Shawn Mendes, Diana Ross, H.E.R., and more.

The Grammys air on Sunday, February 10 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
