A Quick Divorce

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus divorced earlier in 2019 after less than a year of marriage, and the drama around the split has been dominating the news cycle ever since. While Hemsworth has largely kept mum, Cyrus hasn't shied away from addressing the split. She posted a lengthy and honest statement on Twitter after the news went public.

"I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time. What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide."

"But the truth is, once Liam & I reconciled,I meant it, & I was committed. There are NO secrets to uncover here. I’ve learned from every experience in my life. I’m not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring. I’ve grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP.

I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.

BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time. You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking , foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar."

She's Already Cracking Jokes

Cyrus recently addressed her marriage in an Instagram comment, and this time it's a bit more humorous. Artist Matty Mo updated his Instagram bio to include "Getting married to @mileycyrus in 2020."

Cyrus saw the bold comment, replying with a sarcastic and self deprecating "It probably won’t last long. But always down to try, You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take."

A little further down in the comments, Mo claimed that he would "def [make] her sign a prenuptial." Harsh.

Not The First Time That She's Mentioned The Split

This certainly isn't the first time that Cyrus has addressed the split. She went off on an Instagram live rant with her current boyfriend, Cody Simpson, calling him the only good man she knows.

"There are good men out there, guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay. There are good people with d---s out there, you just gotta find them. You gotta find a d--- who’s not a d---. I always thought I had to be gay because I thought all guys were evil, but that’s not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d---s. I’ve only ever met one, and he’s on this live."

His Family Isn't A Fan

Hemsworth hasn't been throwing any shade back, but his family certainly is. His sister-in-law and wife of Chris Hemsworth, actress Elsa Pataky, made it clear that she is not a Cyrus fan anymore.

"My brother-in-law, well…After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well. He’s a strong boy and he deserves the best, I think he deserves much better."

The divorce may be finalized, but it doesn't seem like the drama is going away anytime soon.
