Miley Cyrus, J.Lo, Renee Zellweger flock to Tom Ford's pre-Oscar fashion show in L.A.

LOS ANGELES — The only place to be before the Oscars? Try Tom Ford's fashion show.

Ford held his second-ever L.A. fashion show Friday, trading New York Fashion Week for a Hollywood experience that saw attendees from Jennifer Lopez to Kylie Jenner.

On Friday, the designer began his Fall/Winter 2020 show with a mix of disco beats and casual looks; long and slouchy sequin skirts, leopard coats, cascading tie-dyed tops paired with distressed gray sweat pants, sculptural platforms worn with socks and boxy camouflage cargo pants.

Then the mood switched — the Fugees' "Killing Me Softy" took over — as Bella Hadid modeled a glam silver chain mail gown adorned with velvet bows. Sister Gigi Hadid followed in a completely see-through black lace gown. An intricately embroidered white bridal gown with a dramatic long veil closed the show.

Kate Hudson, wearing a green breastplate and skirt combo that has become one of Ford's signature looks on red carpets of late, deemed the show "amazing" on her way out — and she wasn't the only star bowled over.

"The beauty of Tom Ford is that he's one of those designers that seamlessly melds into Hollywood," said longtime Ford fan Tracee Ellis Ross, noting the designer's "very powerful glamour and cinematic eye."

Miley Cyrus, who also attended Ford's 2015 pre-Oscars L.A. show, noted a different vibe to his West Coast shows.

"L.A. is so casual, there's something kind of beautiful about it. There's something that feels unusual, which I like," said Cyrus, who brought brother Trace to the show. "A lot of people brought family members."

It's true: Among a starry guest list, Demi Moore attended with daughter Rumer Willis, Ciara showed off her baby bump with husband Russell Wilson, and Lisa Bonet arrived with husband Jason Momoa. Rob Lowe brought son John Owen Lowe, while Kris Jenner arrived with beau Corey Gamble and daughter Kylie to cheer on Kendall Jenner, who walked the runway in a number of looks.

The front row also found Renee Zellweger sitting next to Lopez (she attended with fiance Alex Rodriguez) and Jon Hamm, who chatted it up with director Ron Howard (Leonardo DiCaprio's prime seat was saved with a placard bearing his name, but he did not appear to make the show).

Also spotted sitting front and center: Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Lil Nas X, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Dr. Dre, James Corden, Joe Alwyn, Matt Bomer, Rachel Zoe, 21 Savage and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with girlfriend Lauren Sanchez.

A chic cocktail party preceded the Milk Studios show. Dashing waiters passed glasses of white wine, fresh lime margaritas and sparkling water. And oh, the mingling: All eyes were on Lopez as she entered the runway show right before it began. And in the crush of guests departing after the show closed, everyone wanted to talk to her.

"The Super Bowl!" yelled legendary music executive Jimmy Iovine, catching up with Lopez on the way out. "It was a 10! I loved it!"
