Miley Cyrus Has Emotional Elimination Night on ‘The Voice’

It was an emotional elimination night for Miley Cyrus on The Voice Tuesday, as two Team Miley members fought for the instant save at the end of the night. Aaron Gibson was in the bottom two for the second week in a row, and this time he was joined by Miley’s Mini-Me, Darby Walker.

Darby fought for her Voice life by singing “Your Song” by Elton John, and Aaron sang “Budapest” by George Ezra. After the two gave a final performance, it was up to America to decide who they wanted to save, but first, Miley had some emotional words for her two protégés.

Fighting back tears, Miley said, “Even though your job, your job as a coach is to avoid this moment at all costs, but it’s also to give these young artists something they can take away and use. And you can’t always use your falsetto, Honey, you can’t always use those low notes, but you can always smile at someone and make their day. I hope you always do that.” With the emotional and inspirational comments out of the way, the only thing left to do was find out who America saved. And for the second week in a row, Aaron was was saved, which meant Darby’s time on The Voice had come to an end.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
