Miley Cyrus denies being unfaithful to Liam Hemsworth: 'I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating'

Miley Cyrus is clearing up gossip surrounding her failed marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

Hemsworth, 29, filed for divorce on Wednesday — amid Cyrus, 26, moving on with Kaitlynn Carter — and gossip suggesting that the “Wrecking Ball” singer cheated on her husband of less than seven months has Cyrus worked up. She took to Twitter on Thursday to set the record straight in epic Cyrus fashion. The crux of her message is that, “I can admit to a lot of things, but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating.”

She started out by acknowledging that she opts to live her life in the public — and because of that she’s completely transparent. “I have nothing to hide,” she wrote.

And then she gave a few examples of her life being an open book, including her candidness about her drug use.

She talked about facing repercussions for some of her actions.

She admitted she wasn’t always a great partner and cheated in the past. (Her other exes include Nick Jonas, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Stella Maxwell.)

However, she owned her wild reputation.

And said she prefers wild to boring. That said, she made it clear she was 100 percent committed to Hemsworth when they reconciled in 2016. “There are NO secrets to uncover here,” she wrote. “I’ve learned from every experience in my life. I’m not perfect. I don’t want to be, it’s boring.” However, “I HAVE GROWN UP.”

Cyrus went on to “refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating” and reiterated her love for him, having first falling in love a decade ago on the set of 2010’s The Last Song.

She called their split “a healthy decision” that she made “to leave a previous life behind.” As a result, she’s the “healthiest and happiest” she’s been.

She ended by saying, “You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking, foul mouthed hillbilly, but I’m not a liar,” she concluded. “I am proud to say I am simply in a different place from where I was when I was younger.”

Since their split was announced on Aug. 10 — after Cyrus was seen kissing Carter in Italy — sources close to Hemsworth and Cyrus have both reportedly been leaking various allegations. A TMZ report days later said sources from Cyrus’s camp said she tried to save the marriage, but Hemsworth was drinking and using certain drugs, which was a dealbreaker. Cyrus didn’t debunk it, going on to sing about not wanting “the whiskey and pills” in her new breakup anthem, “Slide Away.”

Meanwhile, it was noted that sources in Hemsworth’s camp slammed the drug and alcohol claims, saying it was a coverup for what really destroyed their marriage: Cyrus’s infidelity.

Some of the confusion definitely stems from Cyrus moving on so publicly with Carter. The women were “basically having sex” at a club over the weekend, according to a report, and that was one week after the photo of the two kissing in Italy first surfaced, leading Cyrus’s rep to confirm her split from Hemsworth in the first place.

There has since been gossip that Hemsworth and Cyrus really split a some point in July, before he headed back to his native Australia, where he has been since. His divorce filing only caused more speculation because it cryptically listed their separation date as TBD, so fans are trying to piece together whether it was before or after she was seen canoodling with Carter.
