Fresh off the massive success of Top Gun: Maverick, Miles Teller has revealed there’s been some discussion about a follow-up film.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor, who plays Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, opened up about the possibility of starring alongside Tom Cruise in a potential Top Gun 3.
“That would be great, but that’s all up to TC,” Teller said of Cruise. “It’s all up to Tom. I’ve been having some conversations with him about it. We’ll see.”
Teller added, “For him to share Top Gun with me and a lot of these other young actors it’s just been such a wild ride, and it’s still going.”

The news arrives after Maverick officially flew past the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, making it the first Tom Cruise-starring film to achieve the milestone. The film beat out Cruise’s previous top earner, 2018’s Mission Impossible: Fallout, which tapped out at a still impressive $791.1 million, to become the highest-grossing movie of Cruise’s career.
Back in May, Maverick set a new Memorial Day weekend domestic box office record with $156 million, giving Cruise the largest opening weekend of his career. The previous record was held by Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End for 15 years. The Gore Verbinski-directed movie made $153 million when it opened in 2007.
