Mila Kunis is more than just a fashion and beauty trendsetter. And Ashton Kutcher is more than just in the minds of people playing pranks (would this be AK-approved?!). They’ve both apparently inspired a generation of parents when picking out baby names.

Kunis recently revealed that she’s met people who have named their kids or pets after characters she or her husband have played. Some people have gone even bigger, naming their kids “Mila” or “Ashton” [supposedly] in honor of the actors. “[That’s] so beautiful and so sweet,” Kunis told People.

And while they sometimes find out these tidbits in passing, the couple once learned their kids were going to daycare with a Mila and an Ashton!

“They were two different little kids, two separate families,” she shared. “This was the first day, and Ashton and I walked in … and there was a random Mila and a random baby Ashton, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is so cute.’”

“They were like, ‘I’m so sorry,’ ” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘No, it’s so cute.’”

I would also feel so awkward (albeit starstruck) if I met the celebrity I named my child after! And even more so if said celebrity assumed it was in their honor but it was unrelated … eek!

Whether or not people are fans of Punk’d or Family Guy and are purposefully naming their kids after Kutcher and Kunis, there’s no denying that their names became more popular after they rose to fame when starring alongside each other in That ’70s Show.

The show ran from 1998 to 2006. In 2006, “Mila” entered the United States Social Security Administration baby name charts for the first time and was ranked number 745 on their list of the top 1000 baby names for girls. The last time the SSA counted, in 2022, it had risen to number 19. Top 20, baby!

As for “Ashton,” he hit the charts earlier — earning the 254th spot in 2000. The name currently sits at number 146.

And while “Rebecca” is pretty common and stayed within the Top 10 for nearly a decade after I was born, that can’t be attributed to me. If I were to meet a baby Rebecca on the street, there’s no way the parent would gush and then apologize for naming their offspring after me.

That’s very specific to the Kunis-Kutcher household.

The power couple shares kids Wyatt, 9 and Dmitri, 7 and is pretty private about their home life.

Last year, though, Kutcher told People that the “No. 1 role he will every play” is being a dad. “It’s the most important role in my life,” he added.
