Mike Tyson's cannabis empire, Tyson Ranch, has become so popular that now frauds in the industry are trying to take advantage of potential customers and business partnerships by faking an affiliation with the legendary boxer.
Sources familiar with the situation tell The Blast, the brass at Tyson Ranch are actively sifting through and identifying grifters who erroneously claim to be partners with their brand.
Tyson Ranch currently has tons of legitimate relationships with people in all aspects of the cannabis industry, including growers, vendors and manufacturers. But the company's success, as well as its serious emphasis on the quality of its products, has attracted attention from scammers hoping to make a quick buck off the Tyson Ranch brand.
We're told a big target for scammers has been Tyson Ranch's CBD isolate manufacturing and distribution, which is extremely lucrative.
CBD is put into just about everything these days, and Tyson already has multiple products on the market containing the cannabidiol extract, including a topical treatment for muscles, called CopperGel, and a CBD-enhanced beverage, called DWiiNK. We're told there are also plenty more upcoming products in the pipeline.
We're told one of the main problems is Tyson Ranch's obsession with quality of their product, which is regularly tested and inspected throughout the entire process. Because of that, the company has been taking fast action to avoid having non-sanctioned products make their way into the world baring an alleged Tyson Stamp of approval.
Our sources tell us Tyson Ranch is compiling a list of individuals who have been contacting vendors and acting as representatives of the company in order to score contracts.
We're told the legal team at Tyson Ranch is contacting the alleged scammers posing as affiliated partners and initiating legal action.
When called for comment, a rep for Tyson Ranch told The Blast, "We care about our customers' well-being above all, and take pride in the product and experience we deliver."
The rep added, "We will not tolerate any action that undermines that experience. For that reason, we will go to great legal lengths to protect our brand, and our customers."
