The star has not been shy nor embarrassed to talk about his prison stint but some fans are questioning if the reality star is proud that he served time.
Sorrentino shared a photo of his prison ID badge to his Instagram and the red badge featured a picture of his mug shot, his inmate number, his eye color, and height.
"RELEASED September 12, 2019," Sorrentino wrote in the caption of his post.
Badge Of Honor?
Mike's wife, Lauren Sorrentino showed him support by commenting, "Comeback SZN! 🙌🏼♥️😘," which is a saying that he has been using since his release. A lot of his millions of followers laughed and enjoyed Mike's post.
"Sitch held it down in the yard 💯. Never snitched never folded," a follower commented and another wrote, "God Is Good Brother Fan Of Your Growth Your Spirt And Your Faith!!! All Glory To God."
But not all of the comments celebrated the star. One fan asked, "Why u posting this? Lol," while another said, "U must feel proud that u are now a former inmate that u are sharing this with the public 🤦🏼♀️."
"Why are you proud of this?? 🤯," another concerned follower asked.
The Situation quickly replied and used a very popular quote.
"Because the devil whispered in My Ear and said ' you can’t Withstand the Storm ! And I whispered back ' I AM THE STORM! '"
"Jersey Shore" fans loved his response and some even commented on how good of shape he got in while locked away.
"@mikethesituation haha love it!! 🙌🏽 mind blown with that response 🤯 🤣," one fan wrote.
"@mikethesituation I’ll take that six months as well coming home having six pack abs too," another said.
Another follower made sure to encourage the star and replied to his comment with an inspirational message.
"some people can never understand or find the good that comes out of the bad. Perception. Good for you. It sucks it happened, of course, but you have proven that you learned from your mistake, and, that you continue to work on you (whatever that means for YOU) and keep moving forward. #fowardfocus."
Released From Federal Prison
Sorrentino was released from Otisville Correctional Facility on September 12, 2019, around 8:30 in the morning. Lauren was there at the gate to greet the newly freed Sitch. They issued a statement shortly after Mike started his journey home.
"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort." They go on ... "We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!"
He surrendered himself to Otisville in January to serve his eight-month sentence for tax evasion.
Before entering prison, the reality star had celebrated three years of sobriety and credited getting clean with helping keep him on a good path.
