tvN’s upcoming K-drama, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, dropped a new trailer. Starring Jung Ryeo-Won and Wi Ha-Joon in the lead, the rom-com drama is already gaining a lot of attention. It is directed by Ahn Pan-Seok.
The storyline revolves around an academy teacher, Seo Hye-Jin (Ryeo-Won), and her student, Lee Joon-Ho (Wi Ha-Joon). The backdrop is set in the neighbourhood of Daechi, the main centre of private tuition in South Korea.
The narrative follows when Joon-Ho resigns from his big company job and starts working as a rookie teacher in an academy. It is the same academy where his teacher, Hye-Jin, teaches. They meet again after years, and sparks of love ignite. Hye-Jin was Joon-Ho’s first love.

tvN’s new trailer of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon highlights Seo Hye-Jin and Lee Joon-Ho’s equation. The video clip begins with a scene where Hye-Jin (Jung Ryeo-Won) goes to a school and asks that she wants to retake the examination. This shows how she never compromises with work. However, when she sees her former student, Joon-Ho, standing, her emotions start to overflow. Meanwhile, Lee Joon-Ho joined the teaching academy and became a star.
The teaser of the drama further shows how Hye-Jin’s feelings for Joon-Ho start to complicate everything. She is overwhelmed, excited, and happy with Joon-Ho’s return, but she is not able to express it. In one scene, she says, “I’m sad.” To this, Joon-Ho asks what he will do if she behaves like this.
This is the first time Wi Ha-Joon and Jung Ryeo-Won share the screen in The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. The audience is already loving their chemistry. Amid all these, the viewers are excited to see Ha-Joon in a different avatar.
The Midnight Romance in Hagwon will premiere on May 11, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN.
