ENA recently shared the trailer of Midnight Photo Studio, an upcoming K-drama. The storyline revolves around a photo studio that welcomes ghosts.

A photographer named Seo Ki-Joo runs a small professional studio and takes portraits of ghosts. His employees include Han Bom, Assistant Manager Go, and Baek Nam-Gu. They work at night and welcome deceased people’s spirits before crossing from life to death.

The thrilling and mysterious series director is Song Hyun-Wook, and the writer is Kim Yi-Rang. The recently released trailer gives fun and comedy vibes as the employees run the photo studio.

Midnight Photo Studio K-drama trailer begins with someone pulling up a painting and exposing a door. The narrator says, “Somewhere along the arduous netherworld, a place only allows to those who are desperate.”

The video shows a person, most probably Seo Ki-Joo (Joo Won), brushing off dust over an old camera. The next scene shows Ki-Joo, Go, and Baek Nam-Gu donning suits and getting ready to welcome customers. A long line forms, consisting of ghosts. According to Ki-Joo, it is difficult to manage dead people.

It further introduces Kwon Na-Ra’s Han Bom, who will play a lawyer and will somehow get involved in the photo studio business. She will provide legal counseling to the customers. The trailer adds many fun elements, making it perfect for comedy K-drama lovers. The clip ends with, “Welcome, honored guest. We’ll take your photo now.”

Midnight Photo Studio release date, cast & more

Midnight Photo Studio will premiere on March 11, 2024, at 10.00 p.m. KST on ENA. The 16-episode series will also air on Genie TV. The network will release new episodes twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The K-drama stars Joo Won as Seo Ki-Joo, the 7th photographer of the mysterious photo studio for ghosts. Due to childhood trauma, he can hear ghost stories. He spends time in a chapel where the ghosts cannot approach him. Ki-Joo lives with a curse, which states that he cannot stay alive after 35. He may change his fate when Kwon Na-Ra’s Han Bom enters his life.

Speaking about his role, the production team says, “Please anticipate Joo Won’s acting transformation as he embodies this mysterious character and returns to viewers’ screens after nearly a year. We believe his action in facing guests seeking a peaceful departure and attentively listening to their stories will resonate deeply with audiences. We hope you will join us for the opening of Midnight Photo Studio, which is coming up in about a month.”

Na-Ra plays a passionate lawyer named Han Bom. Aside from these two, the lead cast also includes Yoo In-Soo as Go Dae-Ri and Eum Moon-Suk as Back Nam-Gu. Dae-Ri’s job is to take care of the line while Nam-Gu deals with rude ghost customers.

The other actors include Han Groo as Jin Na-Rae, Ahn Chang-Hwan as Lee Seon-Ho, Park Doo-Shik, Park Jung-Ah as Kang Soo-Mi, Kim Young-Ok as So Geum-Soon, Lee Bom So-Ri as Kim Ji-Won, and Shin Dong-Hyeon as a ghost.
