MANATEE COUNTY – Another rock star now has a home in Sarasota-Manatee, Florida.
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and his ballet dancer girlfriend Melanie Hamrick bought a Manatee County house at 15809 Clearlake Ave. in The Lake Club in Lakewood Ranch, according to Michael Saunders & Company. The four-bedroom estate sits on roughly a third of an acre surrounded by lake views and includes 8,394 square feet under the roof and 5,726 square feet of living or business space.
It was sold for $1,980,000 on Oct. 28, according to MSC, with the couple choosing the home primarily for its privacy and to be close to Hamrick's family, who lives in the area. The deed was recorded Nov. 4 and the house is in Hamrick's name. The sellers were Ray and Loretta Harris, who originally purchased the house in January 2010 for $1.2 million, according to Manatee County records.
Tina Ciaccio, who works in MSC’s Lakewood Ranch office and served as listing agent for the property, said the couple never visited the house in person before closing, instead interacting with them through a FaceTime appointment with their buyer's agent.

“It was very cool hearing Mick Jagger’s voice over the phone, that was neat,” Ciaccio said. “But regardless, they really were a pleasure, a great couple to transact with.”
The news was previously reported by the New York Post's Page Six, with sources saying Jagger bought Hamrick the house for Christmas.
Rock stars with homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties include singer Brian Johnson, who has a house on Bird Key and recently scored a No. 1 album with his band AC/DC's new release "Power Up." AC/DC has performed with The Rolling Stones in the past, including sharing the bill at a 2003 Toronto benefit concert.
Allman Brothers Band founding guitarist and singer Dickey Betts grew up in Manatee County and lives in Osprey on Little Sarasota Bay. Betts, who is retired and recently celebrated his 77th birthday, played alongside current Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell during the 1970s when they were both Allman Brothers Band members; with Leavell famously contributing to Betts' hit compositions "Ramblin' Man," "Southbound" and "Jessica." Leavell joined The Rolling Stones in 1982, serving as touring keyboardist and musical director alongside Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood.
Other celebrities with homes in Sarasota-Manatee include Stephen King on Casey Key, television host Jerry Springer on Bird Key and basketball sportscaster Dick Vitale in Lakewood Ranch.
