NOVI – The Michigan State Fair will take place Aug. 31 through Sept. 4 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Admission starts at $10 a day.

Also new this year is My MI Farmland, an interactive exhibit on Michigan’s agriculture.

“The new area will feature a variety of activities focused on educating consumers about farming and agriculture in Michigan,” organizers said. “Our goal is to help people connect with where their food and fiber comes from. Farmland will feature milking cows, live baby animals, trivia wheel and tractor simulator. We will have farmer volunteers to answer questions and help attendees navigate this fun space.”

An aquatic acrobat show also is new at this year’s fair. The water show will feature springboard maneuvers, “living mermaids” and aqua bola feats.

This year, most of the main aisles have been increased by up to 30 feet.

Other annual attractions include the Shrine Circus, live music, beer tent, 5K race, midway rides, food and animals. For a schedule of activities, visit michiganstatefairllc.com/schedule-breakdown.
