Michigan lands commitment from Ohio high school football standout Jordan Marshall

Michigan football added another commit for the class of 2024 on Tuesday when four-star Ohio running back Jordan Marshall committed to coach Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines.

It’s a big get for U-M, as Marshall won the Ohio Gatorade Football Player of the Year Award last season after rushing for 1,951 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also had 19 catches for 364 yards and four touchdowns in leading Cincinnati's Archbishop Moeller to the Ohio Division I semifinals. In that game, he rushed for 165 yards and three TDs.

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Marshall is ranked 91st among all players nationally, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, as well as the No. 7 running back and the third-best player in Ohio.

Marshall announced his decision on Tuesday evening via a tweet featuring video of him wearing No. 24 in maize and blue, while thanking several people for his football career:

“First of all, I just want to thank my mom and dad, family, friends, and the Moeller Community for supporting me," Marshall's tweet reads. "With that being said…I Will be Committing to the University of Michigan 💙💛 #GoBlue.”

Marshall picked U-M over offers from several Power Five schools, including Ohio State and Cincinnati, plus Michigan State, Tennessee and Wisconsin. He’s the first running back to commit to U-M for 2024 and brings Michigan’s class to eight players, including six four-stars. The Wolverines have the top class in the Big Ten so far and rank fifth nationally, behind only Florida State, Notre Dame, LSU and No. 1 Georgia, the two-time defending national champions.
