Tennessee’s Rashaan Gaulden wasn’t the only player to show his disdain for opposing fans on Saturday.

Hours after Gaulden flipped his middle fingers toward Alabama fans following a Tennessee defensive touchdown, Michigan’s Lavert Hill did the same thing after the Wolverines fell to Penn State.

Hill, who originally committed to Penn State before ultimately signing with Michigan, apologized for the gesture on Monday.

“I sincerely regret my inappropriate gesture at the end of Saturday’s football game,” Hill said in a statement released through Michigan athletics. “I let my emotions get the best of me and learned a valuable lesson. I am truly sorry for this offensive gesture and vow that it will not happen again.”

Hill, a starting cornerback for the Wolverines, finished with seven tackles, but it was a long night for the Michigan defense, which allowed 506 yards of offense in a 42-13 loss.

Like Hill, Gaulden, who was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, also apologized.

From Volquest.com:

After the game, a disappointed Gaulden stood at the podium and willingly accepted responsibility for actions, saying, “I want to make an apology to the University of Tennessee and the University of Alabama for my gesture.

“That remark that I showed is very out of character. That’s not how my parents raised me. That’s not how a leader of the team should show their emotions on the field. I sincerely apologize to the student section of Alabama for disrespecting them.”

Tennessee lost the game 45-7 to drop to 3-4 (0-4) SEC on the year.
