Michelle Wolf: Trump ‘Responsible for More Abortions Than the Invention of Back Alleys’

Michelle Wolf put on a patriotic display on her Netflix show “The Break With Michelle Wolf” in the episode following the Fourth of July. She didn’t salute U.S. independence, though — she celebrated the constitutional right to abortion.

The segment dealt with the announcement that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire at the end of July. The move gives Donald Trump the chance to appoint another conservative justice, one political observers believe is likely to create a court majority that will overturn Roe v. Wade.

“It’s so ironic that Trump could be the guy who ends legal abortion,” Wolf said. “That dude has been responsible for more abortions than the invention of back alleys.”

Wolf then tore into anti-abortion activists and Republicans.

“I know some people call themselves ‘pro-life,’ but pro-life is a propaganda term that isn’t real, like healthy ice cream and handsome testcales,” she said. “Get the terminology straight. First of all, these people are anti-abortion, which means their anti-woman. If these people were actually pro-life, they’d be fighting hard for healthcare, childcare, gun control, education and protecting the environment. But these anti-abortion do not care about life, they just care about birth. Like they think that’s the only place you can watch a woman s— on a table!”

At this point a website URL appeared at the bottom of the screen: ladytables—sxxx.com. It’s not a porn site, though, but one that redirects back to Netflix’s “The Break With Michelle Wolf” website.

Next, Wolf addressed men generally, and took them to task for trying to control women’s bodies.

“Now, men, I’m sorry, I’m sure this brings up a lot of feelings and thoughts and points that you want to make, and I just want you to know that that’s all very irrelevant,” she joked.

“If women embrace that they control life, that makes it a lot harder for men to control women. Of course men are uncomfortable with that: they wont’ even let us control a little bit of ‘Star Wars,'” Wolf continued, referencing a sexist and racist backlash against “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which included harassment that drove co-star Kelly Marie Tran off Instagram.

To cap off the segment, Wolf took part in a brief parade-like number, wearing a red, white and blue leotard and leading members of a marching band in “The Break’s 10th Annual Salute to Abortion.”
