“This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” Spears said in a statement to People. “Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook.”

Spears adds, “I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle for reading the rest of it.”

In a statement, Williams expressed her support of Spears, saying “I stand with Britney.”

Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books will publish the memoir on October 24. In a press release, Gallery Books called it “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” adding the book “illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”

“The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” the publisher said.

Williams most recently received a lead actress Oscar nomination for her role in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans, inspired by his own life. She earned a Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for The Fabelmans, and she won a 2019 Primetime Emmy award for her starring role as Gwen Verdon in FX’s limited series Fosse/Verdon, among other honors.
