Michelle Obama, an icon and inspiration, has earned a major honor: a Grammy nomination! On Nov. 20, the Recording Academy revealed the list of 2020 nominees for the coveted award show, and among some of music's biggest artists - including Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers, and Ariana Grande - was the former first lady. Obama received a nod in the best spoken word album category for the audio version of her book Becoming, which was the bestselling memoir in history.

"So thrilled to receive a #GRAMMYs nomination!" Obama wrote on Instagram. "This past year has been such a meaningful, exhilarating ride. I've loved hearing your stories and continuing down the road of becoming together. Thank you for every ounce of love and support you've shared so generously." This gives her an opportunity to win the same prize as husband Barack, who snagged two spoken word album awards in 2005 and 2007 for his books Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.

But make no mistake, Obama isn't new to the Grammys game. In 2012, she also received a best spoken word album nomination for American Grown, which details her experience growing food in the White House's South Lawn. Additionally, Obama made a surprise appearance during this year's ceremony, alongside Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Lopez. Perhaps she'll be back on the Grammys stage to accept a win when the 62nd annual ceremony airs on Jan. 26, 2020?
