Michaela Jaé Rodriguez made business lunch look fun in tall shiny silver platform sandals at the NBC USG Emmys Luncheon in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The “Pose” star’s disco-ready metallic sandals, which were partly obscured by her tasseled pants, featured an approximately 4-inch platform and sleek reflective finish.

Rodriguez also recently embraced the metallic trend in gold pointed-toe pumps at the Mercy For Animals Hope Gala on April 20. At the 7th Canneseries International Festival on April 9, she expertly showcased day-to-night dressing in pointed-toe black pumps with bow detailing. For the daytime photo call, she wore the pumps in a casual it-girl look and with a sultry gown for the French TV fest’s pink carpet.
The NBC USG Luncheon is an annual event celebrating their biggest stars and Emmy hopefuls. Rodriguez currently co-stars in Apple TV+’s “Loot” alongside Maya Rudolph and Joel Kim Booster, a comedy created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, the former who also worked on “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None.” In the TV series, Rudolph plays a billionaire divorcee who starts working with her charitable foundation, led by Rodriguez, after coming into $87 billion. The second season is currently streaming.
The Metallic Shoe Trend
Metallic shoes, especially in gold and silver tones, started to dominate fashion in 2022. Since then, the style has consistently dominated designers’ collections. Several high-end labels, such as Bottega Veneta, Prada and Manolo Blahnik, have included the shiny material in their runway shoes over the past couple of months.

Platform Sandals
Platforms have made a comeback in recent years, from chunky elevated sneakers and sandals to pumps and heeled sandals. The elevated sole helps compensate for the height of the heel, allowing for more height than a traditional pump without any added discomfort.
