Michael Strahan shares update on daughter Isabella’s cancer battle

"It is tough to see her go through it,” he said.

Michael Strahan has shared another update about his daughter Isabella, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

The media personality said on Good Morning America that his 19-year-old daughter was “fighting through” her treatment. "The last three days have been a little rough because she had a fever that kind of comes and goes," he explained, adding that she had to be taken to the hospital. "She said, 'I thought I'd be here for two hours' ... It's been three days, but hopefully she'll be home today."

"It is tough to see her go through it, but I know she's a tough young lady and she's going to make it through," Strahan continued.

In a clip from her YouTube channel shared on GMA, Isabella discussed how she feels about going home. “I don't mind the hospital too much because I feel safe, but I do like being home,” she said. “I'm gonna take a walk today, maybe stretch, drink more water, and eat.”

The GMA host also said that his daughter’s public chronicling of her treatment on her YouTube channel has raised her spirits. “I think for her — so many people reached out and said, ‘I'm glad you're doing this thank you for doing this, this has really helped us,'" he explained. "And all that support that she's getting from people she doesn't know, on top of people that she does know, has kept her in a very positive space.”

Shortly after she began taking classes at USC last fall, Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma and had emergency surgery to remove it. last fall shortly after she began taking classes at USC. In an emotional interview on GMA in January, she said that she’s "excited for this whole process to wrap.” Soon afterward, she and her family celebrated the end of her radiation treatment.
