Michael Strahan Offers Clemson Players 'a Proper Meal' Following Trump's Fast Food Spread

A former NFL Hall of Fame player wants to offer up more than McDonald’s and Burger King to the Clemson University football team.

While live on GMA Day, co-host Michael Strahan invited the championship winning team to a dinner in New York City, and said he would even pay for the upscale meal out of his own pocket.

“I would like to invite the Clemson Tiger football team here for a great meal,” Strahan, who played for the New York Giants, said on Tuesday.

“Whoever can make it, we’ll hook you up with lobster. Whatever you want, we’re going to take care of you,” Strahan added. “We’re going to give you the proper meal that you deserve because that was one great game, a great accomplishment.”

Strahan’s promise came the morning after President Donald Trump bought the football team a fast food feast during their visit to the White House to celebrate the team’s national championship win.

Strahan added that he too wanted to pay for a meal for the Tigers, despite co-host Sara Haines chiming in, joking, “Are you paying? We don’t have a lot of money here.”

“It’s out of my pocket, I got you guys, I got it. Out of my pocket … I’ll pay for it, no problem,” Strahan answered. “… Those guys deserve it, congratulations to Clemson.”

There’s no word on whether the team will take Strahan up on his offer.
