“It was scary,” says actor and comedian Michael Rapaport about his stint as Pickle on FOX’s celebrity singing competition “The Masked Singer.” The star reveals, “I’m a big reality TV fan in general and I had a ball doing it. The challenge of it, the adrenaline of it. Performing in costume, singing and dancing in front of the entire world was something I’d never gotten a chance to do before, but I really had the most fun.” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior Denton Davidson above.

Rapaport was eliminated on Wednesday night following his “2000s Night” performance of “Beverly Hills” by Weezer. He stumped panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger who guessed Pickle was Joel McHale, Conan O’Brien, Howard Stern and Charlie Sheen, respectively. Host Nick Cannon claimed he knew who Pickle was “the whole time.” Rapaport says, “I didn’t care about who they were guessing as long as they didn’t guess me.”

“I was surprisingly upset I got voted off, to be honest with you,” he admits. “I was surprised by that, but I had a good time. I’m a competitive person. If you do well you win. My main agenda was to do well and perform the best I can. Obviously, I had never sang before. Obviously the world has now found out that Michael Rapaport has the voice of an angel.”

The 53-year old may have discovered his vocal abilities late in life, Rapaport has been nominated for a Grammy. His 2011 documentary “Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest” was nominated for Best Long Form Music Video in 2012. He discusses attending the ceremony, his lifelong love of music and which legendary performer he hopes gets an extensive, first-person documentary while they’re still alive.

You can currently find tickets to see Michael Rapaport perform live at michaelrapaportcomedy.com. “I’m performing stand-up in Chicago the 20th and 21st,” he says. “I’m on tour the rest of the country after that. My stand-up comedy is very energetic. It’s very honest. I like to talk trash.”
