Michael Pena will be performing heroics next January, when his sci-fi thriller Extinction hits theaters.
Universal Pictures announced the film, about a man who must fight for his family's survival after an alien invasion, will hit theaters Jan. 26, 2018.
Lizzy Caplan also stars in the project, which is being directed by Ben Young and was written by Eric Heisserer, Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane.
Pena is playing a man who suffers from a recurring nightmare about losing his family. He finds unknown strength after aliens invade and he must fight to keep his family safe.
Pena next appears in CHiPs, opening Friday.
